'spread your satellites' bijvoorbeeld is acht minuten lang elektronisch krautrock genot: lang uitgesponnen melodieën, constant repeterende patronen, glitch en drone. in het titelnummer doet hij het nog eens dunnetjes over al overheerst hier de variatie boven de repetitie. mooie plaat dat scatter stars en nog voor niets ook. voor wie de oude vertrouwde cd niet kan missen: beide releases zijn te downloaden inclusief hoesje. ben benieuwd of -n in de nabije toekomst dit hoge kwaliteitspijl kan continueren. volgens de website staan de komende drie releases al gepland. by theo ploeg @ cut-up.media.magazine comments: my respect for ANDREY K. 'scatter stars' continues the journey with a persistent meditation on the sounds around us. the melodic drone produces a wakeful dreamstate as we listen to the everyday. the dream waxes into tension as 'spread your satellites' begins with repetition that becomes drone, opening the ears to the rhythms and tones sitting just behind us. the ep closes with 'mythree,' as melodies melt into washes of noise, then rhythms, before returning to a more familiar groove and tempo. and just when we think we have made a journey, we realize that we are exactly where we began. |
